Kristin Kudarauskas, M.S. CCC-SLP, Owner

Kristin received her Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Emerson College in 2005. Considered a “Jackie of all trades,” she has served families and their loved ones from age 4 to 104 for over 20 years. Early on, she had the honor to work with students in various public and private school systems, with specific focus on enhancing communication for students on the Autism Spectrum and with moderate to severe physical disabilities. Kristin transitioned to serving adults with both developmental and acquired speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallow deficits. It has been her dream to open and thrive in her own private practice to serve the greater community in which she lives. She resides in Fredericksburg, VA with her husband, three children, two dogs and a cat.

Kristin holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, as well as her Speech-Language Pathology license in the state of Virginia. A life long learner, Kristin enjoys engaging in a variety of continuing education courses to ensure her treatment protocols are effective and timely, providing top of the line evidence-based approaches.

Jessica Johnson, M.S. CCC-SLP

Jessica received her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Longwood University in 2014. Prior to her Master’s degree, she attended James Madison University for her undergraduate degree (go Dukes). Her first job as a speech-language therapist was with a local rehabilitation hospital. There she provided services to adults with acquired speech, language, voice, swallowing, cognitive and fluency deficits and aided in the caregiver education and patient transition out of the rehab hospital. After some time working with adults, Jess transitioned to working with children in the public county schools. In the school setting she provided skilled speech, language, augmentative alternative communication, and fluency services for students in preschool up to 8th grade. She also collaborated frequently with teachers, parents, and other specialists so they, as a team, could provide the best individualized care in all settings.

Jessica is thrilled to now work with Chancellor Therapy Solutions, where each therapist strives to provide premier treatment for their clients while prioritizing a trusting relationship with clients and families. She grew up around Fredericksburg, VA and now resides there with her husband and two children.

Jessica holds her Certificate in Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, as well as her Speech-Language Pathology license in the state of Virginia. Jessica seeks out opportunities for continuing education in order to remain informed of the latest research and provide the best, evidence-based treatments for her clients.

Carrie Szlyk, MPH, M.S. CCC-SLP

Carrie earned her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University in 2019. Her journey to becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) began when her own children entered elementary school, sparking her passion for the vital connection between speech-language development and academic success. This passion led her to serve students of all ages—ranging from preschool through middle school—in Stafford County Public Schools. Carrie has extensive experience working with children with complex communication needs, including those with speech sound disorders, augmentative and alternative communication needs, Autism, Down syndrome, verbal apraxia, cleft palate, and fluency.

Before becoming an SLP, Carrie built a career in public health policy at the National Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Medicine, focusing on educating policymakers on critical issues related to  healthcare quality, environmental health, physical activity, and substance abuse prevention. Born and raised in Fredericksburg, VA, Carrie earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and later received a Master of Public Health from George Washington University.

Carrie and her husband are parents of two college students—one at the University of Virginia and the other at Virginia Tech (a lively rivalry in their household), and one furry baby, a dog.

Carrie holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the state of Virginia to practice speech-language pathology. Her approach to therapy is rooted in evidence-based practices and emphasizes close collaboration with families, teachers, and other professionals to support each person's unique communication needs.

Katie Castell, M.S. CF-SLP

Katie earned her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Longwood University in 2025, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mary Washington in 2021. Drawn to the meaningful work of speech-language pathologists, she began interning with Chancellor Therapy Solutions and later worked as a speech-language pathology assistant for the practice while pursuing her graduate studies.

During her training, Katie supported clients across the lifespan—from toddlers to older adults—in areas such as communication, cognition, and swallowing. She is especially passionate about helping children and their families build strong, confident foundations for communication through family-centered, collaborative care.

Katie holds a provisional license to practice as a clinical fellow in Virginia, which means she is actively working under supervision to complete the required clinical hours and finalize her full licensure. A lifelong Fredericksburg resident, she’s proud to serve her community through work she loves. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog—you’ll often find the three of them hiking, playing pickleball, or strolling through a farmers market.

Hope Hichak, C-SLPA

Hope received her Associates of Applied Sciences from John Tyler Community College in 2010. She traveled the country with her husband while he was an active duty Marine. Then she spent several years staying at home with their three sons. She started a non-profit group, Quantico Area Babywearers, where she helped families learn to safely carry their children in baby carriers. Her love for children and their families continued through her work at her children’s elementary school PTA where she has spent the last 2 years serving as president.  In 2020, Hope went back to work as a paraeducator for Spotsylvania County specifically working with the reading specialist to help students who need extra help with learning to read. While working at SCPS she discovered her love for speech and language. As such, Hope completed speech-language pathology assistant courses through Longwood University and went on to earn her speech-language pathology assistant certification through ASHA in 2023. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking her two dogs, and mountain biking with her family as well as running long distances.
